lyrics

I was feelin’ down and broken-hearted
Like there was very little left for me to lose.
So I started to sing about the way it all started:
A pyramid to all of my dues.
Fell into a trance and I started to dance
And imagined myself King Lear
Alone on a heath with tremblin’ teeth
And nothing but fear to fear.

Cordelia, Cordelia, my darling daughter,
Don’t you recognize your old man?
I suffered for sure when I froze on the moor.
So give me all the sympathy you can.
“Say, Daddy,” she said. “You’re a long way from dead.
You can walk, you can talk, you can bend.
And, if you think you’ve seen the worst of it
Then no one’s told you ‘bout the end.”

Well, that scared me some so I started to wonder
Just when things got out of control.
“You made a pact with the Muse of The Blues and she called ya’.
You’re bluffing your ace-in-the-hole.”
Well, I’ll throw in my hand. “Wouldja be happy then?”
Cried the resonant voice form the skies.
“Well, so is the man who sings the blues,
No matter how much he cries.”

about

Pablo SOLO Santander, Spain

Solo's first LP became one of the most critically acclaimed indie albums in Spain of 2020, ‘Alondras’.
During lockdown, Solo recorded a song written by John Simon (producer of the Band, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Simon & Garfunkel…)
Simon heard the cover and recognized the talent of Solo’s musical range. Ten months later, the fortuitous collaboration of ‘Solo Sings Simon’ came to life.
